New for AIDA Cruises is the Almhütte (alpine hut), a Bavarian-inspired gastronomic facility.
Gebr. Heinemann takes over shopping concession
In addition, AIDAluna's shopping facilities, rebranded as AIDAluna Shopping Welt, are now operated by a new retail concessionaire, Hamburg-based Gebr. Heinemann. The 400-square-meter shopping area was completely upgraded with a new design, and retail offerings were significantly expanded.
Other work done at Blohm+Voss included refreshing several public areas and cabins. Moreover, the Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop was newly added, offering a wide range of products and services.
On the technical side, AIDAluna was refitted for cold ironing.
Almhütte adds a new gastronomic experience
The Almhütte will offer typical food, drinks and entertainment from the Alps region. For example, bread-based snacks, grilled pork knuckle and cheese noodles are going to be served, at no extra charge.
Moreover, this new facility will be the site to celebrate typical alpine festivities such as the famous Oktoberfest taking place in Munich every September.
The Almhütte will be officially inaugurated on AIDAluna's upcoming cruise, an event highlighted by the GletscherFezzer band, embarked specifically for occasion.
