Royal Caribbean International revealed a $97m new look and new features for the South Pacific region's debut 'Royal Amplified' ship. Voyager of the Seas will be getting The Perfect Storm duo of racer waterslides, reinvigorated Vitality Spa, redesigned youth spaces and 72 more staterooms.

Scanship has been awarded a contract with a Chinese shipyard to deliver its advanced wastewater purification system for a medium-sized cruise ship that will enter service in 2021.

China’s Yichang Transportation Co. is to jointly develop a 100% electric-powered river sightseeing vessel with China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. The total investment for this newbuilding project is around RMB90m ($13m).

Yokohama’s Shinko Pier Cruise Terminal and InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8 hotel are set to open in November. By end of March 2020, an additional attraction in the precinct will be the adjacent Hammerhead Park and Promenade. The park will feature Yokohama's Hammerhead Crane, the first quay crane installed in 1914 which  will be the central icon of the park.

Royal Caribbean's first Quantum Ultra ship, the newly inaugurated Spectrum of the Seas, will offer new overnight stays in Tokyo in summer 2020.
